If you’ve ever spent time in the mountains, you’ve likely witnessed the breathtaking sight of rosy-red hues kissing the peaks at sunrise and sunset. This natural phenomenon, called Alpenglow, has always captivated me and is just one of the reasons I love the mountains.

Alpenglow Exteriors is proudly owned and operated by Chas Vergauwen, a seasoned roofing contractor in Montana since 2003. Chas is known for his expertise in both mid to high-end residential and commercial properties. A third-generation contractor, Chas continues to carry on the legacy of his father and grandfather, maintaining a strong tradition of family-owned businesses in the homebuilding industry.

Alpenglow Exteriors is a full-service roofing and exterior systems contractor serving high-end residential and commercial projects throughout Montana and Colorado. We specialize in technically demanding builds, mountain environments, and long-term performance roofing systems where precision, planning, and execution matter.

Our work spans everything from custom homes and legacy renovations to commercial and mixed-use projects, with a focus on durability, clean detailing, and systems that are built to last in harsh alpine conditions.

We install and manage a wide range of roofing systems, including standing seam metal, pro panel, synthetic slate and shake, architectural asphalt, and flat roof assemblies such as TPO and low-slope commercial systems. We are equally comfortable coordinating complex roof geometries, snow-load considerations, and long-lead material procurement as we are executing clean, efficient installs.
